Made from plants not plastic

Neon Kactus compostable products are made from plants not plastic! Our unique material derives from low carbon, fully renewable, plant based materials that can be commercially composted after use leaving behind no harmful residues.

Polylactic Acid (PLA)

A compostable bioplastic derived from plant sugars. Firstly we extract glucose from milled corn, then ferment it to produce lactic acid which is processed into a polymer and made into pellets. We then heat and mould these pellets to create Neon Kactus products that Look Good & Do Good!

Sustainable Product Life-cycle

Our compostable products are made from fully renewable, plant based materials that in their finished form can be commercially composted after use promoting a fully sustainable product cycle

Composting

Officially defined as a form of recycling, a compostable material is capable of breaking down into water, carbon dioxide, and biomass at the same rate as cellulose. Compostable bio-plastics must also disintegrate and become indistinguishable within the compost, leaving no toxins behind.

Composting your Neon Kactus

We have teamed up with UK waste company First Mile to compost your old Neon Kactus cups!

Once your compostable cup has come to the end of its life, simply post it back to us and we will process it with other food waste to create green energy for the National Grid and nutrient-rich fertiliser for local farmers.
